2205 Wine Company was created out of a love for good wine and a passion for connection.
Winemakers Jason and Rory have both been raised around family farms. They were taught the value of hard work, dedication and having a respect for the land from a young age. Those same values are reflected in their winemaking as much as they are in their jobs outside of this endeavor. Jason is a career firefighter and Rory a teacher. Jason’s badge number – 2205 – is the inspiration behind the name of the winery. Winemaking and firefighting, though seemingly disparate, share surprising similarities in their attention to detail, dedication, and resilience – both fields require a deep understanding of natural elements. Making wine, just like firefighting, is hard work. The gratification of that hard work that relates to winemaking is found the moment you uncork a bottle and taste the fruits of your labor, knowing every drop reflects their dedication and passion. They get an immense satisfaction in seeing others enjoy and appreciate the unique wines they have meticulously crafted from vine to glass.
Jason and Rory believe their family farming histories have been a contributing factor in what has got them to the point they are at now. They have a passion for Washington wines and believe some of the best grapes are grown in this state and on their property. They look forward to building this brand because they believe in experiences and want you to share the beauty of their property and vineyard with you – it’s too good not to share. They believe wine is an experience. 2205 wines are meant to be enjoyed with friends, great food and most importantly laughs.
Many of the grapes used to make 2205 wines hail from the family vineyard in Manson – Beresford Rocks. Beresford Rocks is owned and tended by Rory’s parents, Bill and Joan McGovern. They produce some of the best grapes in the Chelan Valley and are at the heart of our wines.
Come experience 2205 wines and share the same passion we have for the process.
